What makes a city resilient? What human structures enable a sense of belonging to a community? What makes it capable of conveying and maintaining a sense of security? What resources can it offer for regeneration?

We are delighted to invite you to an introductory lecture on the topic of "Practicing Urban Resilience" to kick off the four-day summit.

In the opening session, the curatorial team will pose the key questions and thus prepare the ground for an experiment for individual exploration

Together with Florian Uthoff-Erforth, Dr Irina Nalis, who will present "Ambiguity Tolerance" as a key competence for the urban life of the future in her keynote, will open the discussion on what else is needed to navigate uncertain and complex environments and, in particular, to improve the ability to accept and effectively manage critical situations and future crises.

This panel is an invitation to recognise the weak signals and the cracks in the current system that could lead the way to new narratives and innovations for an equitable, climate resilient urban fabric. An invitation to explore how to increase tolerance for ambiguity to cultivate a mindset ready to tackle the "wicked problems" of our time

Dr. Irina Nalis, Transformation Psychologist, is a Post-Doc Researcher at TU Wien and an interdisciplinary collaborator at Mostlikely Architecture/Vienna.

She contributes social science concepts to the architectural and urbanist practice of Mostlikely Architecture to drive social transformation. In her work, she is committed to creating spaces and solutions that are not only architecturally sound but also socially and environmentally conscious. Resource-based and potential-oriented – transformation is a team sport.

3426, aka Tel-Aviv’s former fish market, was recently revived by architects Natanel Elfassy and Avital Gourary (AN+), bringing together a diverse array of creators, organizations and communities to coexist under the same roof - a space where creativity, education and sustainability converge to envision a better future

The event is part of the four-day summit "Practicing Urban Resilience", a satellite event of the New European Bauhaus Festival organized by Liebling Haus LAB in cooperation with 3426 and Radical

Other cooperation partners include Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem, Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg (HFBK), Heschel Centre for Sustainability, the Israeli Climate Forum and the Green Building Council.

מה גורם לעיר להיות חסינה, להעניק ולשמר תחושת ביטחון? איזה מבנים אנושיים מאפשרים תחושה של השתייכות לקהילה? אילו מקורות העיר יכולה להציע להתחדשות? מוזמנים להרצאת מבוא בנושא "מתרגלים חוסן עירוני", שתיפתח את  הכנס בן ארבעה ימים. במושב הפותח יעלה צוות אוצרי הכנס שאלות מרכזיות, שיכינו את הקרקע לחקירות אישיות ברוח ניסויית.

ד"ר אירנה נאליס (Irina Nalis) תציג בהרצאתה את הרעיון "סובלנות לעמימות" כמפתח חשוב לחיים אורבניים בעתיד. נאליס,  עם פלוריאן אוטהוף (Florian Uthoff-Erforth), יפתחו דיון על המרכיבים הנדרשים  לשגשוג בסביבות מורכבות ואפילו חשודות, ובעיקר  לשיפור  היכולת שלנו לקבל ולנהל ביעילות מצבים קריטיים ומשברים עתידיים.

הפאנל הוא הזמנה לזהות את האותות החלשים ואת השברים במערכות הקיימות, ובכך להוביל דרך לנרטיבים חדשים ולחדשנות, שיאפשרו מארג עירוני חסין ושוויוני יותר. זוהי הזמנה לחקור את היכולת שלנו להיות  סובלניים יותר לנוכח עמימות ולטפח גישה נכונה להתמודדות עם הבעיות הקשות של זמננו.
