חומרים משמרים: שיח בתערוכה

התערוכה "חומרים משמרים: פרק א'" מעניקה מבט חדש על הריסה, על פסולת בניין ועל שימור, ומציעה לבחון את הרעיון של פירוק ושימוש חוזר כחלופה. דמיינו מה היה קורה, אם כל החומרים הנחשבים כיום פסולת בניין היו יכולים לשמש כמשאב לשימוש חוזר, לשוב למעגל הצריכה ולהרכיב את הבתים והערים שנחיה בהם בעתיד? איך כרייה אורבנית יכולה לעזור לשמר את המורשת הבנויה? התערוכה מבוססת על הפעולה של המעצבת ליהיא ברגר, שהקדישה שנה לחקירה חומרית של בנייני מגורים המיועדים להריסה בתל אביב במסגרת פרויקטים של פינוי-בינוי. ברגר צילמה, הקליטה, אספה, מיפתה וקיטלגה את הבניינים האלה במטרה לשמר את הזיכרון שלהם, כשהיא מתמקדת בעיקר בהיבטים החומריים  ובתחושת המקום שהם נושאים.

אוצרת התערוכה, אדר' סברינה צגלה, והמעצבת ליהיא ברגר ישוחחו על החקירה המתמשכת של ברגר וישאלו שאלות על חוסן חומרי ותרבותי, על זיכרון, שימור ושרידים, ועל התפקיד של אדריכלים ומעצבים לנוכח משבר האקלים.

סברינה צגלה היא ממייסדי בית ליבלינג משנת 2015. היא אוצרת בכירה ומנהלת תוכנית הרזידנסי בבית ליבלינג. עבודתה האוצרותית שמה דגש על חקירות רב-תחומית וביקורתיות של הסביבה הבנויה, פרקטיקות אדריכליות ומורשת, לנוכח אתגרי השעה המקומיים והעולמיים. בעלת תואר ראשון באדריכלות ותואר שני (בהצטיינות) בהיסטוריה ותיאוריה של האדריכלות מאוניברסיטת תל אביב.

ליהיא ברגר, מעצבת

ליהיא ברגר היא מעצבת בין-תחומית ויוצרת המשלבת עיצוב, אמנות, תיעוד ומחקר.  מתמקדת בחשיפת הערך של היבטים קיימים בסביבתנו, שאנחנו נוטים להזניח. בעבודותיה הנוכחיות  חוקרת את ההריסה של הסביבה הבנויה בתל אביב מנקודות מבט אמנותיות וסביבתיות, ועבודותיה מוצגות במקומות שונים ברחבי העיר.  בוגרת המחלקה לעיצוב תעשייתי, בצלאל, האקדמיה לאמנות ועיצוב, ירושלים.

בהרשמה מראש, ללא עלות. מספר המקומות מוגבל ל. נקודת המפגש  בחלל התערוכות המרכזי בקומת הכניסה של בית ליבלינג.

האירוע במסגרת כנס בן ארבעה ימים, "מתרגלים חוסן עירוני",  אירוע לווין של The New European Bauhaus Festival המאורגן על-ידי Liebling Haus LAB בשיתוף  3426 ו-רדיקל.

‘Matters of Conservation: Part 1’ suggests rethinking building demolition as part of the planning and construction process, considering the material that composes a building intended for destruction as a resource for re-use rather than waste, exploring the idea of dismantling rather than demolishing. The exhibition is based on the action of  designer Lihi Berger, who spent a year conducting material research on residential buildings intended for demolition in Tel Aviv: a city under construction. She photographed, recorded, collected, mapped, and cataloged them to conserve their memory, focusing mainly on the material aspects and the sense of place they embody.

The exhibition curator Arch. Sabrina Cegla and designer Lihi Berger will discuss Berger’s ongoing exploration and address questions concerning material and cultural resilience, memory, conservation, relics and the role of architects and designers considering the environmental crisis.

:Hosts

Arch. Sabrina Cegla, senior curator of the Liebling Haus

Sabrina Cegla, a part of the founding team since 2015,  is a Senior Curator and Director of the Residency Program at the Liebling Haus. Her curatorial practice emphasizes multidisciplinary, experimental, and critical investigations of the built environment, architectural practices, and heritage, in light of both local and global challenges. Cegla earned her Bachelor's degree in Architecture and a Master's degree with honors in the History and Theory of Architecture from Tel Aviv University.

Lihi Berger, Designer

Lihi Berger is an interdisciplinary designer and creator who integrates design, art, documentation, and research. Lihi focuses on uncovering the value in the existing, often overlooked aspects of our surroundings. In her recent works, she examines the demolition of the built environment in Tel Aviv from artistic and environmental perspectives, with her works displayed in several locations across the city. She is a graduate of the Industrial Design Department at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.

The event is free of charge. Please register to reserve a place as there are limited places available. The meeting point is at the main exhibition space on the ground floor of the Liebling Haus.

The event is part of the four-day summit "Practicing Urban Resilience", a satellite event of the New European Bauhaus Festival organized by Liebling Haus LAB in cooperation with 3426 and Radical.
