On the Threshold: A Nature Tour in Building Yards
A workshop examining the connections between the body and the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo. Together we will think about the city as a body, explore how streets and buildings resemble bodily systems, and create a "personal map" connecting feelings, memories, and places in the city.

The tour focuses on shared residential building yards, which constitute a significant portion of the city's open space and serve as habitats for diverse vegetation. These yards, established in the spirit of Patrick Geddes's garden city principles, present different aspects of nature-city relationships and allow residents to influence their urban environment.
During the tour, which passes through yards of different types, we will explore various approaches to yard planning and integrating nature into residential spaces. The tour highlights the historical connections between architecture and gardening in yards, as well as the different roles plants play: aesthetics, ecology, connection to nature, and more.
Guided by arch. Dana Mor, researcher of urban yards and PhD candidate at the Technion.
Duration: 90 min
Meeting point: Hen Blvd, corner of Latris Alley, on the boulevard. The tour ends at Ibn Gavirol and Hashofim Street.
This activity is held as part of the Tu BiShvat events at the exhibition “Life, Plant, City: 100 Years of Geddes' Plan for Tel Aviv's Garden City.”
