The sculpture resembles a bed made of pine wood. The artist crafted a single bed frame, typically found in children’s rooms, featuring a purposeful cut that makes it appear broken. By constructing the bed from two separate parts, it can shift and adapt. Throughout the exhibition week, Cohen will reposition the sculpture daily, allowing visitors to engage with a live artwork highlighting various placement possibilities. These adjustments will occur on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 10:00 AM.
Shir Cohen is an artist who works in sculpture and drawing. Through her work, she offers fresh interpretations of everyday objects by neutralizing their functionality and transforming them into purely mental experiences.
Shir participated in the Fate Mountain learning program at the School of the City, guided by Yoav Weinfeld and Tal Alperstein.
This activity is part of the exhibition "Everything We've Learned So Far," currently on display in apartment no. 5. It includes events, educational activities, thoughts, ideas, and practices developed at Liebling Haus's City of the School since its inception.
