Curating Architecture in the Anthropocene – A Conversation in Heritage of the Future

What is the role of exhibitions, curators, and architects in an era of sustained climate crisis and uncertainty? Can an exhibition move beyond the limits of representation to shift how we think, plan, and act in space?

Friedrich von Borries and Sabrina Cegla will host curators, researchers, and architects from Germany and Israel for a conversation about curating architecture in the Anthropocene – an era in which questions of construction, nature, culture, architectural heritage, representation, imagination, and responsibility are no longer separable.

The event takes place as part of “Heritage of the Future,” a collective research project born from dialogue with 28 local architects, which invites us to rethink architecture itself: the role of the architect, the discipline, its modes of representation, and the ways it is mediated and understood. In the absence of models, blueprints, or renderings, the exhibition asks how to curate not only objects but also spaces for conversation, relationship, memory, and shared futures.

The conversation will examine the possibilities and limitations of curating architecture, the aesthetics of crisis, and the possibility of imagining – and perhaps beginning to reshape – a future reality.
