As part of Salon Liebling, we invite you to an exciting evening with a lecture on material circularity, which will take a look at Israeli and German architectural developments.

The debate in Germany is moving from sustainable building to circular building to not building new at all and instead converting and transforming on a large scale. The trio sees the conversion of vacant buildings with the tools of circular construction as the only alternative for implementing the building turnaround and as the greatest lever to counteract the extremely high level of emissions and waste. In the course of the lecture, the topics of the hopeless, profit-oriented construction and real estate industry, unnecessary demolition instead of conversion and projects and initiatives from Germany and Israel will be discussed.

Architects Annabelle von Reutern, Sofia Ceylan and Katharina Neubauer will give an insight into the German discourse, followed by Yasmin Yotam with the Israeli dependence in cooperation with the Green Building Council Israel.

This lecture is part I of the event series "Circular material & energy culture" as part of the Salon Liebling on Wednesday evening.

Yasmin Yotam, vice CEO Green Building Council Israel

With a background in industrial design, she holds both a bachelor's and master's degree from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. Specializes in management, development, and implementation of strategic processes, creative thinking, service design, circular economy, and environmental project management. Led and was involved in products and services design & development, and collaboration with a various organizations across all three sectors - public, private, and nonprofit - both domestically and internationally. Over the past three years, she has managed the Urban95 National Expansion Program, which aims to reach socially and geographically peripheral cities in Israel and make them better places for young children and their families.

Arch. Sofia Ceylan

Sofia Ceylan is an architect and sustainability manager working with various offices in Berlin. She practices in the field of sustainable architecture with a focus on circular building and debates in the context of implementation. Sofia studied at the RWTH Aachen, TU Berlin and at the Vastu Shilpa Foundation of Balkrishna Doshi, India.

Dr.-Ing., Arch. Katharina Neubauer

Katharina Jeannie Neubauer studied architecture at RWTH Aachen University and TU Berlin. She has been working as a research assistant at the Institute of Architecture at TU Berlin since 2018. She defended her doctoral thesis at TU Berlin in 2020. Her research focuses on the interaction between society and architecture and on architectural typologies, in particular storage buildings and data centers. For several years she has been working as an architect in Switzerland, as well as a lecturer at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Arch. Annabelle von Reutern

Annabelle von Reutern is an architect, speaker and expert in circular building. After studying at RWTH Aachen and TU Berlin, she worked several years as an architect. For the past three years she worked as Head of Business Development for Concular, a platform for circular construction and urban mining. With her work she wants to accelerate the change in the construction and real estate industry.

Together they form the collective "TOMAS - Transformation of Material and Space", which wants to change outdated building processes and believe in the power of transforming.

The lecture is a hybrid event. There is the option of online participation via zoom as well as the opportunity to follow the event on site.

Please register in advance to participate on site. The ticket costs 60 ILS and includes admission to Salon Liebling Part I and II.

The meeting point is the rooftop terrace of the Liebling Haus. Seating and standing sections will be available. There is no designated seating plan.

הדיון בגרמניה נע מתחום נושא בנייה ירוקה ובת-קיימא לבנייה בשיטת הכלכלה המעגלית, לשיח אודות הפסקה בנייה של מבנים חדשים ולשינוי תפיסתי בהיקף נרחב. השילוש הזה רואה בהמרת בניינים ריקים באמצעות כלים של בנייה בשיטת הכלכלה המעגלית כחלופה היחידה ליצירת תפנית בסקטור הבנייה וכדרך המוצלחת ביותר לנטרול פליטות פחמן ופסולת לסביבה. ההרצאה תסקור את נושאי הבנייה העכשווית, זו המובלת על-ידי רווחיות בסקטור הנדל"ן, את ההריסה הלא הכרחית של בניינים ואת הפרויקטים והיוזמות הקיימים כיום שנולדו מתוך תפיסה זו בעולם.

האדריכליות אנאבל פון רוטרן, סופיה ציילן וקתרינה ניובאואר יציעו מבט פנימי אל השיח הגרמני/שוויצרי ולאחר מכן יתנהל דיון יחד עם המועצה הישראלית לבנייה ירוקה בפרספקטיבה הישראלית על הנושא.

ההרצאה הינה חלק ראשון בסדרת אירועי "מעגליות חומרית & תרבות האנרגיה" והינה חלק מאירועי התוכן המקצועי של סלון ליבלינג בימי רביעי בערב.

סופיה ציילן היא אדריכלית ומנהלת נושא הקיימות העובדת במספר משרדים בברלין. עבודתה עוסקת בתחומים שונים של אדריכלות ברת-קיימא תוך התמקדות בבניה מעגלית ויישומיה. סופיה למדה ב- RWTH Aachen University, ב- TU Berlin וב- Vastu Shilpa Foundation of Balkrishna Doshi שבהודו.

ד"ר אדר' קתרינה ניובאואר

קתרינה ג'יאני ניובאואר למדה ארכיטקטורה ב- RWTH Aachen University וב- TU Berlin. קתרינה עובדת כעוזרת מחקר ב- Institute of Architecture at TU Berlin מאז 2018, וקיבלה משם את הדוקטורט שלה בשנת 2020. המחקר שלה מתמקד ביחסי הגומלין בין החברה לארכיטקטורה ובטיפולוגיות אדריכליות, במיוחד בבנייני אחסון ומרכזי נתונים. בשנים האחרונות היא עובדת כאדריכלית בשוויץ וכמרצה ב- Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

אדר' אנאבל פון רוטרן

אנאבל פון רוטרן היא אדריכלית, דוברת ומומחית בנושא בנייה מעגלית. לאחר לימודיה ב- RWTH Aachen וב- TU Berlin, היא עבדה מספר שנים כאדריכלית. בשלוש השנים האחרונות היא היתה ראש המחלקה לפיתוח עסקי ב- Concular, פלטפורמה לבנייה מעגלית וכרייה אורבנית. באמצעות עבודתה היא מעוניינת להאיץ שינויים בתעשיות הבנייה והנדל"ן.

יחד הן ייסדו את הקולקטיב- "TOMAS - Transformation of Material and Space", אשר מכוון לשנות את תהליכי הבנייה המיושנים ומאמין בכוחו של השינוי.
