פרטי האירוע

The upcoming bilateral ICOMOS event focuses on feminine architecture and the role of female architects since the modernist period.

How did female architects shape the reality of modern cities, how much of their legacy is known and cherished today, and what is female architects’ place in contemporary architecture? How can female architects overcome the male myth of the relentless architect working around the clock, and are there individual and systemic mechanisms that can change women’s position in architecture? Karin Hartmann advocates for equal representation of women in committees and panels - quickly achievable at short notice. The quota was also an issue.

A collaboration with the DAM (Deutsches Architekturmuseum) in Frankfurt, the event is moderated by Sharon Golan-Yaron, program director of the Liebling Haus. Speakers: Mary Pepchinski, co-curator of Frau Architekt and former Prof. of architecture and society at the Technical University Dresden; Sigal Davidi, architect and architecture historian from Israel; senior architect Marina Tabassum; upcoming young architect Anne Femmer; and architect and writer Karin Hartmann.
