Most people in the world today live in cities and buildings, which were invented as the most efficient solution to the urban residential system. This idea requires us, the residents of the building, to be partners in the rules, constraints and spaces closest to our private apartment. The circumstances of the last period made us question the shared way of life, the opportunity and the possibilities it offers us in the shared domestic space, on the private side.

The Beit.Benin plan is a joint initiative of Beit Liebling and the Authority for Environmental Quality and Sustainability and concerns a renewed discussion of the concept of the shared building and an examination of different ways to encourage initiatives by residents in the city to create a beneficial and healthy living environment and promote a sustainable lifestyle. Along with the residency program that takes place at Beit Liebling, the creators of the program will accompany the buildings selected as part of a call in the near future. The program will make it possible to examine and actually experience practice in the field by appointing an accompanying artist for each of the participating buildings. During this period, the apartment in Beit Liebling will be a kind of information agency for the program and at the same time a basis for discussion, research and action.
