Eclectic Architecture in Tel Aviv-Yafo
Tel Aviv is home to different styles of architecture that represent influential periods in the city's history. Among them is the orientalist architectural style that arrived in the 1920s and combined European architecture and oriental features such as arches, domes and decorated tiles. In general, the eclectic style is known as a collection of motifs inspired by monuments of ancient cultures that have been regrouped using historical principles to create a new composition. Today there are about 1500 eclectic buildings in the city, and the goal of this project is to systematically collect the architectural, theoretical and practical information about these buildings in order to make it accessible to the general public.
