This study deals with the urban renewal methods promoted in Berlin. Berlin's history has always been full of upheavals and its urban development has always been innovative and radical. Therefore, Berlin can serve as a fertile ground for ideas in the field of planning. The beginning of the accelerated development and the transformation of Berlin into a considered metropolitan city is a relatively new phenomenon compared to other European cities. The research deals with the basic question: How can physical urban renewal be enabled, which will also be economic, while taking into account the needs of the residents?
