The Precious Stones: virtual visit at Danielle Alhassid's New York studio

Join a virtual studio visit in conjunction with the exhibition The Precious Stones by Danielle Alhassid with curator Sabrina Cegla.

The meeting will focus on the exhibition’s theme through the act of animation, discussing the stop-motion technique and the use of animation as an artistic tool. We will discuss issues concerning materiality, memory and creation and see how ideas such as fluidity, the passing of time and erasure are embodied and expressed in ink, glycerin, paper cuttings and maps. Alhassid will demonstrate various of her lightbox techniques and talk about the work process involved in the exhibition’s animation films.
