Book talk: TELAVIVIENNA: On Coming Home
The Israeli photographer Ronny Aviram and the Austrian writer Christina Maria Landerl will discuss their first collaboration, the book TELAVIVIENNA: On Coming Home. They return separately to Vienna and Tel Aviv, the cities they lived in as young women, and document places and moments in photos and words – each in her field – creating a compelling artistic dialogue between these two cities. Prof. Hannah Naveh will set off the evening with a short lecture on nostalgia.

How do we recall the cities that shaped us? How do we regard the cities we lived in and their evolutions when we return “home”? Can cities remember their past?
The Israeli photographer Ronny Aviram and the Austrian writer Christina Maria Landerl consider these and other questions in their first collaboration, the book TELAVIVIENNA: On Coming Home. They return separately to Vienna and Tel Aviv, the cities they lived in as young women, and document places and moments in photos and words – each one in her field – creating a compelling artistic dialogue between these two cities.
Join us for an evening at Liebling Haus in which the artists talk about the book and present some of its texts and photos. The evening opens with a short lecture by Prof. Hannah Naveh on the notion of nostalgia as it is evoked in the book.
The event will be held in English.
